About Leona

Why we built this

Motherhood is one of the most universal human experiences, and can be one of the loneliest. Whether you're navigating a newborn's sleep schedule, a toddler's diagnosis, a teenager's mental health, or the quiet identity shift that comes with an empty nest, there are a thousand voices telling you what to do and very few asking what you need.

We built Ask Leona because moms deserve better than a search engine. You deserve a space that respects your values, your parenting philosophy, your faith, and your instincts, because parenting and motherhood does not come with a one-size-fits-all answer. Every mom brings her own context to the table, and the guidance she gets should reflect that.

Our goal is simple: to cut through the noise and give you clear, thoughtful, personalized support for every stage of motherhood, whatever that looks like for you.

What Leona doesn't do

Leona isn't a therapist. She isn't a doctor. She isn't trying to replace your village or your pediatrician.

She's a tool for the everyday cognitive load of motherhood. The remembering, the planning, the noticing what worked last time. The 2 AM questions you don't want to wake your partner for, and the weekly decisions you're tired of holding in your head.

If something feels urgent, please call your pediatrician. For mental health emergencies, 911 or 988. For poison concerns, Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222.

Who built this

Hey, I'm Terra. Granddaughter of Leona. I'm a mom of twin boys and an engineer by trade. Like most moms, I've lived in the gap between those two identities, trying to hold everything together at once. I have spent countless nights pouring over resources and scrolling through pages of information at 2 AM, trying to understand how to help my sick baby feel better, sleep a few minutes longer, or what I was going to make them to eat the next day. There is no shortage of advice on the internet and in real life between doctors, forums, and well-meaning family members, but the noise was overwhelming and I often felt more lost the more I searched. The data and information was available, I just needed someone to help me make sense of it. That feeling never really left me. And I know I'm not alone.
